“Graphical Facilitation” is KA1 Mobility of young people- Training Course project financed by European Commission under Erasmus+ programme that took place between 30.10.2015 – 08.11.2015 in Obrucna, Slovakia aiming to develop practical abilities on how to apply graphic facilitation in the youth work of 48 youth workers inside 10 non-profit organizations from 10 countries: Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Germany, France, Italy, Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Lithuania.

What is Graphic Facilitation? Graphic Facilitation is a method of using visual practices to support a group’s learning process and to lead groups towards a goal. It helps transmitting a complex message in a simple way.

The project was developed together with all 10 partners aiming to solve their need of knowing how to use all materials such as: markers, pencils, crayons, flipchart and colored pencils in an efficient way while implementing projects supported by the European Commission under the integrated Erasmus+ Programme.

Therefore, our training course provided the answer regarding the utility of applying visual facilitation to support a learning group in all projects under Erasmus + programme in a non-formal learning context with national and transnational participation for our 10 partner NGOs.

By the end of our project, 46 youth workers coming from 10 non-profit organizations from 10 countries developed practical knowledge, competences and abilities on how to apply graphic facilitation in their work.

In order to fulfill our activities we made full use of participative nonformal educational methods like: animation of the participants, games, learning by doing, reflection sessions; individual learning; active participation in group activities, graphic facilitation, visual storytelling, performing.

Participants had the chance to develop and improve some key competences for lifelong learning, such as learning to learn, interpersonal and intercultural competences, as well as cultural awareness and expression and others. Moreover, the project also contributed to increasing the capacities of all 10 partner organisations of organizing activities using visual facilitation methods and techniques. They also increased the level of efficacy of DEOR within youth activities and Erasmus +. The results of our project, especially the manual of visual facilitation tools, are useful resources for other NGOs and youth organizations, in particular for youth leaders, youth workers, trainers and staff from NGOs.
